From its formation, Rochester LGBTQ+ Together has stood strongly against bias, discrimination, racism and hate. As we join with our greater Rochester community to mourn the racially motivated tragedy and hate crime in Buffalo, we reaffirm our belief that All Black Lives Matter. Hate will not be tolerated here. Tolerating hate will not be tolerated here. We must be anti-racist in our thoughts, words and actions.
We recommit to never being silent or complicit in the face of injustice, oppression and hate. We will continue to use our voices to amplify those of the marginalized and oppressed and to educate the ignorant; use our privilege to make spaces more inclusive, welcoming and safe; and put our very bodies on the line to march, rally and fight for systemic change, freedom and justice.
